When applicable, the Mental Health Specialist offers care coordination services with community providers serving shared students, with the goal of ensuring collaboration in order to meet the diverse needs of students and families. Marisa joined the StepUP team in 2018. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in community mental health and intensive youth services.

NEW! Redmond School District and Rimrock Trails Treatment Services began a partnership in the Spring of 2022.  Rimrock Trails provides professional counseling services for RSD students and families who are struggling with various life challenges related to mental health and substance use problems. Students in need of mental health counseling and/or substance use treatment services can be referred by their school counselor to Rimrock Trails. Students can see their therapist at their home school in person, at one of three Rimrock Trails office locations, or through a telehealth option.

School-Based Health Centers, located at Lynch Elementary and Redmond High School, are also a great place to get connected with medical and mental health services. Sponsored by Mosaic Medical and in partnership with Deschutes County Behavioral Health, the School-Based Health Centers are available to students and families regardless of insurance coverage or the ability to pay.
