Hello Redmond Families,

We hope everyone had a safe winter day today. In this month's newsletter, Superintendent Cline talks to Redmond High's legendary Agriculture Teacher, Lance Hill, highlighting one of our many valuable Career Technology Education (CTE) programs in the district.

THRIVING STUDENTS

Ask anyone who works in the school community, and we all agree that students are the best part of our jobs. Watching students grow and reach their potential is something the community can share and take pride in together. Here are some highlights from this month.

READY GRADUATES

Last month we highlighted our partnership with Youth Career Connect, an organization which helps connect students with local businesses for hand selected internships.
From our partner, Daniel Seddiqui, at Youth Career Connect:
"I would like to highlight Earp's Auto.  They are a first-time participant of hosting students and found that this would be a great opportunity for them to engage with the youth in the community and attract students to potentially pursue a career in auto mechanics. They have a handful of employees that have shown two students from Ridgeview High the ins and outs of the business, including customer relations.

Both of the students knew that this was a career they wanted to pursue, but had no working experience. They are grateful to have signed up for Youth Career Connect and learn how to repair and install car parts. One student even mentioned that they worked on her car for practice. All parties have been thrilled, and I'm sure they will be sad once the internship program has ended, but that's when they can either apply for a part-time job and/or we send them another set of students."

Daniel is available to meet with students at both Redmond and Ridgeview High Schools. Students can contact their Career Center to schedule an appointment and learn more about finding the right fit for their career aspirations.
